This page has advice for government staff to archive past issues of their public-facing newsletters. This advice also applies once you have stopped publishing a newsletter.

PDF newsletters

If you publish a PDF newsletter, we recommend you update your publishing practices and use the government's platform. This will make your newsletter more accessible and the platform also meets the government's privacy and security standards.

Archive PDF newsletters

  1. Email [email protected] to reach the Open Government program manager.
  2. They will get in touch with you to discuss how to get the archived newsletters moved from Yukon.ca to the Open Information section of the open government portal.
  3. Update the Yukon.ca page. You might need to update the page title from "subscribe" to describe the new task. You will need to update the page content and add a link to your Open Information page. This also applies to the French page.
  4. Remove the PDFs from Yukon.ca asset manager. Be sure to include French and English files.

Archive email newsletters

If you use the government's Envoke platform or another service, you're aware all of the old issues are stored and available to the public via that service.

You should move these issues to Open Information following the time period your department privacy lead recommends. You can also add a link to the Open Information page from the platform Archive page to make sure your subscribers have access to these past issues.

  1. Email [email protected] to reach the Open Government program manager.
  2. They will get in touch with you to discuss how to get the archive newsletters moved from the platform to Open Information.
  3. You can add a link from the service's newsletter archive page to the Open Information page to make sure subscribers can access these issues.
  4. Make sure you add a link from the Open Information page to the Yukon.ca "subscribe" page for your newsletter.
